MEEDGARD

The Research Center for Microtechnology has been working with leading scientists in the field of quantum optics for many years. The focus here is on the generation of entangled photon pairs using quantum dots, which are also known as artificial atoms due to their properties. The piezo micro-actuators realised at the FHV using ultrashort pulse lasers are one of the central building blocks for implementing these special light sources. The MEEGARD project, funded as part of the EU's quantERA initiative, will further intensify this valuable collaboration.
