Second knowledge transfer workshop in the FreeE-Bus project

20.11.2024
The 2nd knowledge transfer workshop in the interreg ABH project FreeE-Bus took place on October 9, 2024 in Ravensburg and provided an insight into the current status of the project. This was followed by a lively exchange between the project partners.

The project is developing an optimized charging management system for e-buses in public transport in the Lake Constance region. In particular, charging curves are simulated and optimized based on timetable data and the specifications of the e-buses and charging infrastructure. This makes it possible, for example, to predict and reduce peak loads. It is essential to take into account the consumption of the e-buses depending on external conditions, the number of passengers transported and the driving style. It also requires an appropriate IT infrastructure.

The 19 participants from Austria, Germany and Switzerland were first given a detailed overview of the results to date and the next planned steps in the project. The subsequent discussions and the resulting suggestions are valuable feedback for the project partners. The workshop was rounded off with a presentation from a bus company and a presentation on a similar research project in Salzburg.
