441 students celebrate graduation

19.10.2024
The Bachelor and Master graduates of the FHV celebrated their graduation ceremony in a celebratory setting at the Dornbirn Cultural Center. The newly designated FHV rector Regine Kadgien presented the academic certificates together with her predecessor Tanja Eiselen.

While 671 first-semester students recently began studying at the FHV, 314 bachelor's and 127 master's graduates completed their academic training at the university. The ceremonial sponsorship took place on Friday and Saturday to mark the occasion. On these two days, the Kulturhaus Dornbirn was all about successful degrees and awards. In four ceremonies, graduates from more than 20 bachelor's and master's degree programs from the fields of engineering & technology, business, design, and social work and health received their certificates. FHV Rector Regine Kadgien: “We warmly congratulate this year’s graduates on completing their studies. You have thus reached an important milestone for your future career. They and their families can be proud of this. The knowledge they have learned and the new skills they have acquired enable them to shape the future in their respective areas. They also gain a strong network from their time as students, which will continue to offer them valuable exchanges in the future.”

Prize winners honored

In addition to the certificates, 23 graduates also received a recognition award for outstanding achievements during their studies, which was awarded by the “Strong Partners” and other FHV partner companies. The President of the State Parliament and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the FHV, Harald Sonderegger, made clear the importance of high quality in education: “The FHV enjoys an excellent reputation and is, in the truest sense of the word, ‘a great place to study’. The job market and a wide range of career opportunities are open to our graduates. Thanks to the practical studies, they are well prepared for the challenges of the professional world.” In addition to Sonderegger, State Councilor Martina Rüscher and Harald Moosbrugger, head of the science and further education department from the state of Vorarlberg, also congratulated the graduates.

Close contact to Vorarlberg's economy

The FHV is closely networked with companies from Vorarlberg and the region. This collaboration is reflected on the one hand in a variety of research projects and assignments, and on the other hand in joint projects with students, for example in the form of practice-oriented bachelor's or master's theses within a partner company. FHV students make excellent contacts with business during their training. Although the sponsorship certificates have just been presented, 77% are already tied to an employer. Experience shows that graduates can choose from many job offers and get started in their careers within a very short time. This year, the graduation took place for the 29th time since the FHV was founded and almost 8,000 graduates completed their university studies in Vorarlberg as highly trained specialists.
