FHV delegation at research forum in Krems

23.04.2024
Let's apply science! was the motto of the 17th Research Forum of the Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences. This year's host was the IMC Krems, University of Applied Sciences.

With almost 400 participants, seven tracks with inspiring presentations and interactive formats, five panel discussions with high-caliber guests from science, politics and Business and Management as well as a poster session with almost 50 posters, the Research Forum 2024 at IMC Krems was a highlight. The FHV was also present.

Panel discussion:

Designing the future  Sandra Stroj, Senior Scientist at the microtechnology research center, took part in the panel discussion on the topic of Designing the future - Research at UASs: Powerhouse for Business and Management. "Research at the FHV is an essential building block for educating students at the highest level and at the cutting edge of science. This benefits local Business and Management in particular in two ways - in the form of well-trained future employees and through low-threshold access to research services in the form of collaborations and joint projects," emphasizes the scientist.

Trio at the poster presentation

The Empirical Social Sciences research group at the FHV was represented with two poster presentations. Sarah Kühne and Thomas Zabrodsky presented selected results from the study on the living and income conditions of artists in Vorarlberg. Robert Maria Moosbrugger presented his research on personal and social resilience factors of the survivors of the avalanche disaster in Blons, which this year marks the 70th anniversary.

"The research forum offered a series of exciting panel discussions and networking formats and showcased the diverse research activities of Austrian universities of applied sciences. It was an inspiring event that brought together a very broad range of different research fields in one place and brought them together to exchange ideas," the trio concluded in unison. The Austrian Association of Universities of Applied Sciences, including FHV Managing Director Stefan Fitz-Rankl, also took place as part of the event.
