KINDERUNI Vorarlberg celebrates graduation

23.09.2024
Beaming children's eyes, proud parents and grandparents - that sums up the atmosphere at the graduation ceremony of the Vorarlberg Children's University. FHV Vice-Rector Karl-Heinz Weidmann and Provincial Governor Barbara Schöbi-Fink personally presented the certificates to the young graduates at the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (FHV).

The past semester of the Vorarlberg Children's University was varied and exciting. A total of 530 registrations for six lectures in the summer semester 2024 are the result. Topics included the AI universe and a computer games workshop. Those who took part in at least three lectures qualified for the final diploma. "The curiosity, thirst for knowledge, enthusiasm and pride in the eyes of the young talents assures us of the opportunities in the country. Our goal is to have awakened a lasting love of learning, research and science," said FHV Vice-Rector Karl-Heinz Weidmann at the handover ceremony.

The FHV invited the young students to the campus for the ceremonial awarding of the diplomas. State Governor Barbara Schöbi-Fink and FHV Vice-Rector Karl-Heinz Weidmann presented the visibly proud children with their certificates and bachelor's and master's degrees. Four children's university students even received a doctorate. Jörg Maria Ortwein, rector of Stella Vorarlberg Private School of Music and Anne Frey, vice-rector of the Vorarlberg University of Teacher Education, were also among the well-wishers. State Governor Barbara Schöbi-Fink emphasized: "The children's university offers first insights into technical and scientific topics. The children receive practical impulses and are thus inspired early on for innovative ideas and future-oriented questions." The new semester starts on September 25 with a workshop on the topic of "How do people talk in the digital factory?"
