The following documents are necessary for your complete application:
- Online form within the online application
- Letter of motivation
- Submission of a formulated research question (=idea for a master's topic)
- Curriculum vitae in tabular format
- Certificates (Matura certificate, Bachelor/Master/Diploma examination certificate or - diploma certificate, Transcript of Records - overview of achievements)
- Passport or identity card
- Current portrait photo

Important for third countries (non-EU/non-EEA, exception: Switzerland):
As an applicant:in from a third country (non-EU or non-EEA), the 1 March is the application deadline for you. The reason for this is that it sometimes takes longer until international documents can be checked or lead times are necessary for the application of a visa or a residence permit.
Admission procedure
After your application has been submitted and examined, you will receive an email about the admission process. In order to ensure a transparent admission process, the allocation of places is carried out in two stages according to the following criteria:
Step 1:

Analysis of the application documents (20%)
Both the completeness of your submitted documents and your previous education and/or experience in relevant areas (design, scientific work, related sciences) will be assessed (10% each)
Step 2:

Structured interview (80%)
During the interview, your role conception in design processes, objectives for the Master's programme, your subject-specific knowledge, your academic experience as well as areas of interest and the design questions that can be derived from them will be discussed. The interview will also examine the extent to which your understanding of design and your expectations of the degree programme correspond to the actual orientation of the programme.
According to a predefined point system, you will receive points. Your ranking on the ranking list of applicants decides on the admission to the degree programme.
