At the FHV, students (including visiting students) are currently not charged any tuition fees. For the time being, the FHV will refrain from charging a tuition fee, but reserves the right to make use of the legal option, which can be exercised at any time and at its own discretion.
The ÖH fee for compulsory membership in the Austrian Students' Union (in the applicable amount) must be paid every semester.
In addition, there are scholarships and grants available to help with the costs of your studies.
Students in Austria are automatically covered by accident and liability insurance through the mandatory ÖH contribution. This insurance applies to study-related activities and provides basic cover during your studies. Information on the scope of benefits and contact details can be found on the official website oesterreich.gv.at.
Students are responsible for arranging any insurance they may require.
With the classic full-time study, studying takes up most of your time. Focused engagement with the subject area allows for “quick” completion. It is still possible to work a limited number of hours alongside your studies - depending on the course of study, semester and your own requirements.
The part-time model means that work and study are deliberately combined. Classes usually take place on Friday afternoons and Saturdays, either in person and/or in block sessions – depending on the programme. Reducing your workload to 50–70% is ideal, though this depends on your job, family situation and personal resilience.
The dual study model is a special form of part-time study, where theory and practice are closely linked: you learn the theory at FHV and apply your knowledge directly in a partner company. This combination allows you to deepen your practical experience and grow into your future role already during your studies.
