From methodical to research-based design
The study programmes in the design department are positioned at the interface of design, technology and society. They combine design with systemic thinking and research. In a complex world, communication is a strategic success factor. Graduates of design courses therefore combine classic design and technical skills with critical thinking. They use design as a thinking and shaping tool and thus create the conditions for innovations in a wide variety of areas.
Project work in different fields of application is an integral part of the curriculum. Productions at the Ars Electronica Festival, the Barbican Center in London or the Poolbar Festival are just a few examples of the collaborations in which students gain practical experience and explore the potential of interdisciplinary collaboration.
