This journey spans from envisioning the necessary changes to enabling their execution and, finally, adapting to the changes once they are implemented. Embarking on such a transformation journey is often met with an array of challenges, encompassing structural, behavioural, individual, and systemic dimensions. These challenges contribute to the complexity of the change process. The presentation will delve into the key challenges that hinder the smooth progression of change initiatives. Furthermore, it will elucidate how a serious gaming approach can effectively address these challenges. Real-life examples will be shared, illustrating instances where the application of serious gaming approach has proven instrumental in supporting various organisations throughout their transformative change efforts.
About Ivo Wenzler
After retiring from his role as Professor of Serious Gaming at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, Ivo Wenzler transitioned into an active emeritus phase of his career. Prior to his tenure at NHL Stenden, he had a successful 23-year career as Senior Principal at Accenture Strategy, concurrently holding the position of Associate Professor at Delft University of Technology. Earlier in his career, he held the position of Head of the Policy Analysis Group at Radboud University in Nijmegen and worked as a Research Associate at the University of Michigan.
Throughout his consulting career, he has dedicated his efforts to the development and implementation of change management, business modeling, workforce planning, and simulation and serious gaming approaches for assisting his clients navigate their transformation challenges. In the realm of academia, his focus lies on education and research concerning the design, implementation, and value contribution of serious gaming.
