Project management and successful completion of all courses of the module Digital Management and IT.
- Traditional, agile and hybrid project management: models, structure, selected tools (GANTT, milestones, tasks, risk plan), Scrum, Kanban, lean project management and bottleneck theory.
- Basics of IT product development and service development: Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), analysis and metrics for the preparation of the product lifecycle
- Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and agile development methods, Rapid Application Development (RAD), User Testing, RAD in SDLC, vertical and horizontal prototypes, Throwaway / Evolutionary / Extreme Prototyping
Studies show that a large proportion of IT projects fail. Particularly in the implementation of IT projects, some of which are dedicated to solving new and innovative problems, difficulties often arise in project implementation and realisation due to inadequate definition of project goals, faulty planning of the overall project or a lack of flexibility with regard to unforeseeable project events.

Professional project management and the use of project management tools reduce the risks and enable efficient and successful implementation. The aim of this course is to understand how digitalisation and IT projects are planned and how digital products and services are developed, introduced and monitored.
The students
- can name the phases of an IT project and the most important instruments of project management, explain the purpose of project management instruments and justify their use.
- can describe the principles and processes needed to define and create product roadmaps for digital products and services. They can outline and explain the phases and key points of product lifecycle management (PLM).
- know methods and techniques of agile market-oriented product development (user testing, rapid application development, vertical and horizontal prototypes) and can derive appropriate measures.
can carry out project planning for simple digital products and services, critically reflect on it and adapt it to the framework conditions. Furthermore, they recognise the influence of the team competence of all project members and the leadership function of the project management.
Interactive course with lecture, case studies, exercises in individual and group work, presentations and homework.
