What drives your passion in research, particularly at FHV and within the Research Centre for Microtechnology?

My enthusiasm for research is deeply rooted in my fascination with piezoelectric sensor development and laser ablation techniques. Collaborating with my colleagues at the Research Centre for Microtechnology at FHV, we share a collective goal of pushing the boundaries of quantum technology applications. This environment fosters my creativity and dedication to advancing sensor technology, making every day an opportunity to innovate and tailor solutions to meet specific needs.

Having transitioned from research to production and back to research again, what motivated this journey?

My journey through different phases of engineering - from research to process engineering in production, and back to research - has been driven by a desire to see the practical application of theoretical knowledge. Working in production allowed me to understand the importance of efficiency, safety, and training in a real-world setting. However, my passion for innovation and exploration led me back to research, where I can dive deeper into the development of pioneering technologies and contribute to the field of sensor systems.

With your expertise in sensor systems, what are your aspirations for future product development-based research?

My expertise in sensor systems, underpinned by extensive experience with CAD modeling, FEM simulation, and innovative piezoelectric sensor development, directs my future aspirations towards creating impactful, customer-oriented products. I aim to leverage my skills in quantum technology and microfabrication processes to develop advanced sensor solutions that address pressing societal and industrial challenges. By focusing on product development-based research, I envision bringing to market technologies that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and global well-being.
