What can you expect?
In his presentation, Kai Beiderwellen introduces the Minority Report project. It is part of the Climate Change and Speculative Design (CCSD) research collaboration between California State University East Bay and Mannheim University of Applied Sciences. The aim of the project is to further develop the concept of Speculative Design in order to create a globally applicable tool for future scenarios focussing on climate change and the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The presentation will focus on the following topics:
- Speculative design as a methodology: how can speculative approaches contribute to tackling global challenges?
- International co-operation: Insights into co-operation between design universities worldwide and the integration of cultural differences.
- Examples from practice: Presentation of concrete projects of the intercultural teaching project Minority Report 2070.
- Future perspectives: Strategies for the integration of further partners and for the sustainable anchoring of the methodology in teaching and society.
