Arno Geiger will take over as Head of the Health and Nursing degree programme from September

Arno Geiger, long-time nursing director of the hospitals in Hohenems and Bregenz, is reorienting himself and will take over as Head of the Bachelor’s degree programme Health and Nursing at FHV from 1st September. The 51-year-old brings a wealth of practical expertise. Geiger has experience as a leader and as a certified health and nursing professional in acute care. In recent years, he has also been involved as a lecturer at FHV and Schloss Hofen, gaining experience in educational work. The previous head of the degree programme, Diana Brodda, will continue to lead the Health and Nursing competence field at FHV. Additionally, she has taken over the leadership of the Social and Health department together with Carmen Hofer-Temmel.

Setting new impulses

“We are very pleased with Arno Geiger’s commitment as the Head of the degree programme. He will ideally combine practice with university teaching. Through his high competence and knowledge, he makes a significant contribution to making the Health and Nursing degree programme even more attractive,” says FHV CEO Stefan Fitz-Rankl. Geiger on his personal decision to change careers: “I am looking forward to the challenge and the associated tasks. My goal is to set new impulses for the health and nursing sector in Vorarlberg. I work with all cooperation partners on further development, and we will continue to ensure the very well-functioning health care in Vorarlberg.” The two managing directors of VLKH, Dr. Gerald Fleisch and Prim. Dr. Peter Fraunberger, emphasize: “This change once again highlights the close cooperation between FHV and the state hospitals of Vorarlberg.”
