Circular economy hubs in peripheral urban centres in Central Europe
Urban centres of peripheral regions of Central Europe are lagging behind central areas in the field of innovation and business development. It is due to the lack of access to global innovation processes and partners and lack of utilization of local innovation potentials. In EU, circular economy (CE) was acknowledged as a development concept that should provide sustainable, resource efficient development on one hand, and a great pool for innovation of new technologies, services, solutions and business models (EU Action Plan “Closing the loop”) on the other.
Die städtischen Zentren der peripheren Regionen Mitteleuropas hinken im Bereich der Innovation und Unternehmensentwicklung hinter den zentralen Gebieten her. Dies ist auf den fehlenden Zugang zu globalen Innovationsprozessen und Partnern sowie auf die mangelnde Nutzung lokaler Innovationspotenziale zurückzuführen. In der EU wurde die Kreislaufwirtschaft (CE) als ein Entwicklungskonzept anerkannt, das einerseits eine nachhaltige, ressourceneffiziente Entwicklung und andererseits einen großen Innovationspool für neue Technologien, Dienstleistungen, Lösungen und Geschäftsmodelle bieten soll (EU-Aktionsplan "Closing the loop").
