Gender:
Exploring and reflecting on our individual biographies in relation to gender.
Exploring and reflecting on the broader concepts of gender identity.
Diversity:
Introduction to the concept of diversity and the categories of difference.
Exploring and reflecting on prejudices, assumptions and value systems in relation to these categories of difference.
Exploring and reflecting on how categories of difference are linked to social structures of power and privilege, focussing on our individual biographies.
Exploring and reflecting on oppression in personal and professional contexts.
The students
are able to recognise the existence and effects of gender and other individual categories of difference in a pluralistic society
are able to critically reflect on these in the context of social work
have understood the central importance of reflection in a personal and professional context.
