The students work in areas that either contribute to the choice of a topic or provide preparatory work for the masters thesis. They work independently under the supervision of one of the degree programme lecturers.
The students show that they can independently define a topic area in a manner that fulfils the demands of a masters thesis. They are able to organize the work involved in a masters thesis in such a way that the topic of the masters thesis can be dealt with in full in the available time.
Short presentation of topic, assignment (drafting of a project paper) and final presentation.

Attendance is obligatory for the presentations. For each missed presentation additional tasks have to be done.
Recommended readings are specific to the individual topics and are discussed between the teacher and the student.
