Requirements and Prerequisites
Fundamentals of CAD application
Course content
- Development of a practical, realistic application example from industry.
- Definition of the physical boundary conditions.
- Different flow conditions with different fluids and materials.
- Evaluation with plausibility check.
- Creation of own features - PTS Product Template Studio - to control the simulation and geometry.
- Connection to other simulation possibilities.
Learning outcomes
Students are able to understand the relationships in a simulation environment. And can carry out a simulation themselves. The basis is a CAD environment with which various simulations can be operated. In addition to the focus on a Computational Fluid Dynamics simulation, the connections to other simulations are also shown.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Integrated course with practical CAD applications.
Assessment methods and criteria
CAD project
Comment
This course primarily deals with a practical application example with the help of numerical solution methods, the theory of fluid mechanics is not explicitly dealt with.
