What is the core of your job as a university lecturer and what fascinates you about it?
The task of being able to accompany students through their studies excites me every day. The intellectual and personal exchange with students from the beginning of their studies, through the subsequent specialisation subjects, up to the successful completion of their master’s degree, is enriching and motivating for me.
Which trends in your field do you find particularly interesting and in which areas are you particularly engaged?
Sustainability and the use of generative artificial intelligence are also megatrends in the management of global supply chains. My interest focuses on creating closed loops in resource-intensive industries through the use of artificial intelligence. The goal is to contribute to cross-company sustainability initiatives and resilience in supply chains.
What do you want to impart to your students and what should they bring with them?
Tasks in the management of global supply chains always involve working with people, which requires openness and an interest in solution-oriented interaction with others, whether within one’s own company or with partners in the supply chain. I want to motivate our students to find a way, even in difficult business situations, together with their business partners, to strengthen the relationships between partners and thus be successful together in the long term.
