FHV duo named among the "50 minds of tomorrow"

07.03.2024
Marijana Milošević, Head of the European University RUN-EU at the FHV, and Florian Buehler, university lecturer in the Department of Economics, were honoured at the VN event "50 Minds of Tomorrow". The event took place at the AK Vorarlberg in Feldkirch. A jury selected young talents under the age of 40 from the fields of science, art, culture, business, sport and society who are successful, talented and ambitious.

Living the European idea

Marijana Milošević embodies the European idea. Precisely because she was not born an EU citizen as a Serbian, she values the freedoms that the European Union offers its citizens. The 32-year-old has lived in Austria since 2011 and has been an Austrian citizen since 2019. Together with her team, she experiences the joys and challenges of European cooperation on a daily basis at the FHV, directly from Dornbirn. Anyone who knows Marijana knows how infectious her enthusiasm for the idea of the European university RUN-EU (Regional University Network) is.

As the "brains of tomorrow", she will also shape the institutionalization phase of RUN-EU with her drive, power and openness. With her actions, she enables many people to really live the European idea from Vorarlberg. In doing so, Marijana is making Vorarlberg a little more European, intercultural and therefore more sustainable. "I am delighted to receive this award, which spurs me on to continue on the European path together with my team and the FHV," says the woman from Dornbirn, who is delighted with the award.

Bridge builder AI - human

Florian Buehler, lecturer in the Department of Business and Management, has established himself as a key figure in the explanation and communication of artificial intelligence (AI) in Vorarlberg. He makes a significant contribution to facilitating the understanding and application of this revolutionary technology for students, lecturers, local companies and organizations.

His contribution to regional knowledge transfer in AI has made the Stuttgart native a valuable bridge builder. Buehler understands how to explain AI not only as a technology, but also in its application in Business and Management and its importance for people. As a trained behavioral scientist, the native of Dornbirn brings a deep understanding of the human aspects of digital transformation and equips companies in the region for the digital challenges of the future.

Buehler's commitment to the FHV is a central aspect of his work, enriching the academic landscape and playing a key role in driving technology transfer to local Business and Management.  "I am delighted to receive this award, as the topic of AI is more than just a trendy buzzword. It is my passion to make the fascinating world of technology accessible to everyone," emphasizes Buehler. He is pursuing the goal of making the benefits of AI usable, creating a sound understanding of possible risks and, as a committed didactics expert, arming tomorrow's specialists at the FHV for a technology-oriented future. Congratulations to Marijana Milošević and Florian Buehler for this award!
