Robotic Days at illwerke vkw and Heron / Servus Intralogistics

05.11.2024
Students and alumni were given an exciting insight into innovation, digitalization and modern logistics technologies.

As part of the Robotics Days Vorarlberg at illwerke vkw and Heron / Servus Intralogistics, Helena Hosp and Florian Maurer from the Business Informatics research center welcomed numerous FHV students and alumni.

The focus was on insights into the latest developments and applications in the field of innovation and digitization at illwerke vkw. The focus was on innovative approaches to digital transformation in the areas of hydropower, grid, supply logistics, services and IT. A guided tour of the Rieden substation was followed by selected keynotes that showed how intelligent systems can take over high-risk tasks and optimize operational processes.

The event at Heron / Servus Intralogistics GmbH in Dornbirn provided an interactive platform to get to know modern logistics technologies and experience their benefits in terms of efficiency, performance and speed along the value chain. Participants were given an insight into Servus Intralogistics' modular logistics system. The interplay of modern hardware and intelligent software defines future-proof intralogistics. The focus was on innovative solutions such as the ARC5, the world's most energy-efficient transport robot, and the Servus PickStation. After a tour of the company and an inspiring presentation by Christoph Beer, CEO and owner of Heron, participants were invited to develop their own intralogistics concepts. The basis of this hands-on challenge was a real business case in which the participants, supported by experts, were given practical insights into the automation of warehouse and production logistics.
