Successful Vorarlberg job fair at the FHV

14.03.2025
Over 1,000 career opportunities, more than 100 exhibitors, pitches and "Work & Study" generated a great deal of interest.

A strong signal for the economic hub: Today's Vorarlberg job fair attracted a great deal of interest with over 100 exhibiting employers - from industry, business, social institutions and other organisations - with over 1,000 job opportunities, more than a dozen pitches on career and professional topics and the "Work & Study" information event.

A full house was ensured by the numerous visitors who came to find out more in person at the largest job marketplace in our region. The Vorarlberg job fair, which was launched by the FHV and IV, was held for the 17th time this year in cooperation with the "Marke Vorarlberg" and the VN.

Good atmosphere

A large number of decision-makers from Vorarlberg's politics, business, and society came to the 17th job fair to get a personal impression of the situation on the job market and the wide range of opportunities on offer in Vorarlberg as a business location. The official opening was attended by the President of the State Parliament Harald Sonderegger, State Governor Christof Bitschi, State Councillor for Education Barbara Schöbi-Fink, State Councillor Daniel Allgäuer, WKV Deputy Director Gudrun Petz-Bechter, National Councillor Johannes Gasser, Mayor Andrea Kaufmann and Monika Steurer from the Education Directorate, among others. Bishop Benno Elbs was also at the job fair, as the Catholic Church was celebrating its premiere as an exhibitor.

Barbara Schöbi-Fink, State Councillor for Education: "The annual FHV job fair in cooperation with the IV acts as a crucial bridge between education and career. It offers students and graduates the opportunity to network with potential employers. For the Vorarlberg state government, the promotion of a dynamic and future-oriented work culture is of central importance. Strengthening cooperation between educational institutions and business ensures that our skilled workers have the necessary skills and competencies to successfully meet the demands of the modern working world. Networking is an active contribution to strengthening our Business and Management and creating jobs. The Vorarlberg Job Fair vividly illustrates how close cooperation between educational institutions and industry can contribute to a thriving labor market and a flourishing Business and Management."

Stefan Fitz-Rankl, CEO of the FHV: "The Job Fair Vorarlberg is a crowd puller. As the host, I am delighted at the great interest shown by visitors. In partnership with regional companies and organizations, we are working with IV at the FHV to create an event that connects skilled workers with employers. There was also great interest in the Work & Study information event. The focus here was on the range of part-time study opportunities at the FHV. The Vorarlberg Job Fair has now established itself as an indispensable meeting point for recruitment in Vorarlberg. As a source of skilled workers, we are pleased to play our part in this. Now in its 17th edition, this event has firmly established itself. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the success of the Job Fair Vorarlberg. I am already looking forward to the next edition, which will take place on March 13, 2026."

Simon Kampl, CEO IV Vorarlberg: "Our industry is networked, strong and innovative. Vorarlberg was once again the leader in per capita inventions in 2024 - a clear sign that innovation remains our success factor. However, innovation is not created in books, but in companies that promote creative minds and give room to visions. At the same time, the industry is facing a major challenge: the shortage of skilled workers. To counteract this, more women are needed in STEM professions, practical training with more dual and modular apprenticeships and attractive working conditions in order to retain talent and attract new skilled workers to Vorarlberg. Companies are not just looking for qualifications, but for people with solutions. Those who show initiative, continue to develop and learn new things have excellent career opportunities. Our job fair with over 1,000 offers brings qualified and motivated skilled workers together with innovative companies - an important platform to strengthen the business location "
