Find out in the interview why Student Ambassador Julia Köfler decided to study industrial engineering.

Student Ambassador Julia Köfler from Thuringia has opted for the dual model of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and Management. For her, this training is the ideal combination to be able to apply new knowledge directly in practice.

What made you decide to start a dual study program?

During my training at the HTL Dornbirn, I was already able to learn numerous theoretical connections. After my A-levels, I was looking for an opportunity to put this theoretical knowledge into practice. While looking for a job, I came across the dual training opportunity at the FHV. For me, it's the perfect combination of continuing my education and starting my career at the same time.

Which company do you work for?

I work at the Liebherr plant in Nenzing. A wide variety of construction machinery is manufactured there. The portfolio includes crawler cranes, duty cycle crawler cranes and special civil engineering machines. We also deal with digital solutions and services for construction sites.

Which areas of the company were you able to gain an insight into?

As a dual student, I have an exciting rotation plan. I rotate through different departments in the company, giving me a variety of insights. The departments are as varied as the tasks in which I can apply my knowledge. From Finance to Engineering and Technology and Production to Sales, everything is included. Working at interfaces is a lot of fun and is also an important part of my studies.

What skills should a WING student have?

The joy of actively participating in group work and the ability to think in a networked way. Interdisciplinary tasks bring exciting challenges with them. In such cases, industrial engineers often have to act as interpreters and reconcile technical, economic and social aspects.
