Course content

The course teaches a holistic approach to selected environmental technologies. Current technologies from society, industry and research and development are treated as case studies, e.g:

  •     Industrial and environmentally sound production of materials
  •     Exhaust gas purification systems
  •     Gas processing and storage facilities, green gas
  •     Treatment processes for contaminated soil
  •     Production of environmentally friendly textiles
Learning outcomes

The course deals with case studies from relevant industrial environmental technologies. The students

  •     learn extended professional competence for the evaluation and further development of complete systems
  •     work themselves independently into an example process
  •     analyse and evaluate the process on the basis of technical, economic and environmental aspects
  •     optimise the process from an environmental point of view
  •     document and present the knowledge gained

By working on case studies, students also learn interdisciplinary skills such as communication competence, social competence through teamwork and self-competence through the need for time and quality management.
