Course content
  • 3D Modelling (Cinema4D or Blender)
  • Programming in Unity
  • Game Design either through smaller tasks or a bigger group project / game

The focus is on the integration and connection of computer animation, game design and corresponding implementation/programming with a game engine.

Learning outcomes

You will mainly get a basic understanding of the following topic:

  • 3D Modelling
  • Programming in and working with Game Engines (Unity)
  • Game Design
Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Practical exercises are carried out together or a project (game) is realised in group work. Introductions to (serious) game design and conception as well as the final project are done in groups. 3D modelling and asset creation are individual tasks.
In the 3D area, the focus is on polymodelling, texturing and animation. Game design is about the appropriate conception and integration of visual and conceptual elements and the appropriate implementation via a game engine.
(Of course, some topics can only be dealt with to a limited extent within the framework of the course).
