Course content
The course provides a comprehensive introduction to corporate environmental and resource management systems:
- Qualitative and quantitative presentation and recording of all relevant material and goods flows: Control, optimisation Creation of scenarios: e.g. identification of redundant flows
- Basic knowledge of resource logistics and resource efficiency: cost savings coupled with environmental protection
- Detailed presentation of the environmental management system - method including case studies
- Presentation and critical examination of further concepts: certificates and labels, cleaner production, clean tech, eco-labels, eco-profit, etc.
Learning outcomes
The course provides knowledge of corporate environmental and resource management.
The students
- have an overview and understanding of resource cycles in companies
- can help develop resource budget concepts for companies
- have the ability to prepare and maintain an environmental management system (EMS) on the part of the company
- know the environmentally relevant laws for companies
- can write sustainability reports
The socio-economic as well as ecological character of the topic of environmental and resource management together with the processing of corresponding questions in small groups lead to the promotion of communication competence, self-competence and social competence.
