Using Digitization for SMEs
The IBH-Lab KMUdigital project came to an end in December 2021. Those involved look back on a productive and instructive time and review their impressions in a short final video. It all started in 2017: On the initiative of the International Lake Constance University IBH and the International Lake Constance Conference (IBK), three IBH Labs were launched. One of them was the Lab KMUdigital, which - as the name suggests - was intended to promote the digitization of SMEs. The Lab quickly developed into a large international research and innovation network, in which ten universities and research institutions from Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as numerous companies participated as practice partners.
Six key topics
The Lab was divided into six thematic projects, each of which researched different focal points of digitization and developed solutions with the help of practical partners. In addition to the solutions developed, the participants see the cross-border exchange (D|A|CH) during the entire project as a particularly positive experience.

- Digital Transformation Guide (DigiTraG)
- Digital Agriculture Lake Constance (DigiLand)
- Digital Agenda Bodensee (DAB)
- Data Science (Data4KMU)
- International Model Factory Industry 4.0 (i4Production)
- Benefit-based Digitization Navigator (DigiNav)
The respective research results and digitization strategies help SMEs in the Lake Constance region to implement digital formats, technologies and services in their own companies. With the end of the project, the developed solution approaches were compiled and published in an e-book.
