Programming knowledge in an OO programming language. If you have no previous knowledge of Unity, you should also choose the Elective: Computer Graphics (course no. 0247606068).
The main ideas of combining virtual and augmented reality with alternative interface technology are implemented within the scope of a small project. Captivating, novel means of interaction are developed by combining the physical and virtual world.
Workshops help to deepen the necessary know how:
- Introduction to AR, VR and physical computing
- User experience, motivational concepts (gamification, nudging, serious games)
Students are able to explain newest technology trends in VR, AR and physical computing. They are capable of putting recent user interface trends into practice (prototypes). They can name properties of soft- and hardware products that influence the user experience in a positive way.
The students research and present future technology and interaction concepts. After that they create functional prototypes in teams of 2-4.
The assessment is based on the following parts, each part needs to be positively graded: 10% documentation, 20% research presentation, 70% final project (topic relevance, input modality, visualization, joy of use)
