School collaborations

Promoting the young generation together

Making the professions of tomorrow tangible for young people, opening up opportunities and allowing them to try them out: Starting with the Children's and Youth University, workshops for and with schools through to STEM collaborations and design initiatives. This is how we strengthen future professions right from the start.

A wide range of workshops for schools

The topics of our school workshops are based on the four departments of the FHV and are closely interlinked with the instruction at the schools. The formats developed together with the school take into account the type of school, possible time budget and objectives. The workshops usually take place at the FHV for one to several days and are embedded in NAWI laboratories, elective subjects or similar. The FHV is also happy to provide support on topics related to (pre-)scientific work. The focus can be on aspects such as topic identification, literature research, scientific working methods and critical thinking.

The topics are therefore varied and exciting. We are happy to help you choose the right options. We are also open to your topic ideas, in the spirit of "Bring your topic!".

  • Workshops in the field of Engineering and Technology
We want to make a contribution to strengthening STEM projects. Workshops on robotics, programming languages and photonics are held at the FHV. School students also have the opportunity to study for a semester with our first-year students. Sustainability is a key future topic for young people, and we address this need with the role-playing game "World Climate Simulation". We are also happy to combine workshops with insights into our technical laboratories.

Flying Classroom also offers STEM workshops and experiments for 7th/8th grade ▷ Find out more

  • Workshops in the area of Business and Management
Primary school pupils can get a taste of the world of entrepreneurship as part of the Changemaker programme. The look behind the scenes of Blickpunkt Wirtschaft is very exciting: pupils discuss current topics exclusively with the speakers shortly before the event. The business simulation "SysTeamsBusiness" is also very popular with schools that focus on Business and Management. We are particularly honored to cooperate with the H@Kwards, where the best diploma theses are judged and honored.

  • Workshops in the field of Design
Here we find answers! For example, to the question of how film works or how students can program their own mini-game. In the "Virtual & Augmented Reality" workshop, we bring a virtual animal to life and amaze our fellow students. We take selfies to a new level in the photography workshop and teach what is important in portraits. Students create their own podcasts or beats in the recording studio. Nothing is left to chance, except for the flashing LEDs on the electronic, magical cube that students build on their own.

  • Workshops in the field of Social Work and Healthcare
What exactly is addiction and how does it develop? Students prepare in advance for this important, socially relevant topic at school and bring their aspects directly into the workshop. They interactively discuss the various facets of addiction under expert guidance.

Why is studying nursing so exciting? In the "Nursing 2.0" workshop, pupils can see and listen to a virtual heart using an augmented reality application (HoloLense). They get a taste of the nursing profession and practise practical nursing activities. This gives young people their first concrete impressions of the nursing profession!
