Check it Out: Great interest in the Vorarlberg Education Day

07.10.2024
The Vorarlberg Education Day attracted a large number of interested visitors. Around 600 young people and their chaperones came to the campus of the FHV to find out about training programmes and career opportunities. The focus was on personal counselling sessions.

Start studying after graduating from high school or take the plunge straight into working life? Start an apprenticeship abroad or stay at home? The offers and training opportunities for young people are diverse, and orientation is urgently needed, especially for high school graduates. Once again, Check it Out - the Vorarlberg Education Day at the FHV with around 600 visitors - showed just how great the need for information is. A total of 27 exhibitors, including universities and universities of applied sciences from all over Austria and neighboring countries, took part and were on hand to provide ideas and guidance.

"As the host of Check it Out, we are delighted with the high level of interest and the large number of visitors. The education fair serves as an important information platform and a way for young people to find out where they stand. The earlier and more thoroughly they find out about subsequent training courses, the better. This is why we have been organizing this event at the FHV for many years. We are already looking forward to holding it in 2025," summarized Stefan Fitz-Rankl, Managing Director of the FHV.

Range of courses and short presentations
At the universities' information stands, pupils and parents were given comprehensive information about numerous study programs and a direct insight into the respective study programs in short presentations. Among the exhibitors were connexia, Caritas and the police. Visitors received expert advice on career opportunities from the Public Employment Service and Bifo. Provincial Governor Barbara Schöbi-Fink emphasized: "As an important source of inspiration, the education fair enables participants to find out about their future and set the course for their entry into professional life. Platforms like this are essential for providing guidance and promoting individual career opportunities."

Networking event
After a one-year break, Check it Out presented itself in an innovative format. Interested parties particularly appreciated the personal exchange and questions were answered individually by the exhibitors. Many came with their school or parents. For the first time, there was also a student lounge where interested parties could find out about current study programs. Following Check it Out, there was a networking event for all exhibitors and visitors.

Check it Out is an initiative of the FHV, the Education Directorate and the state of Vorarlberg and supports young people in their choice of studies and career.
