Cooperative 3D Prototyping

Compared to exciting manufacturing, 3D-printed components are usually not homogeneous because they have honeycomb structures or other air inclusions that cannot be seen on the finished product. Subsequent inspection of the printed layers is difficult, so a laser scanner records the corresponding surface after each layer. A comparison between this and a reference model provides information about the quality of the part and whether it meets the original requirements (e.g. mechanical load).
