Strong in research!

The FHV is one of the most research oriented universities of applied sciences in Austria. Studies and research are closely linked.

The master's degree in InterMedia works intensively with the Human-Centred Technologies research centre. The activities in research and teaching in the Human-Centred Technologies (HCT) Research Centre are aimed at ensuring that users of technical products and systems are better understood by developers as well as designers, and as a result, products with the respective optimal characteristics as well as functions are created.

In accordance with its objectives, the HCT research centre is concerned with the recording and interpretation of human experience and behaviour in rooms and buildings, with hardware and software and in virtual reality. Depending on the field of application, user data is collected and used continuously or on a case-by-case basis - to manage control loops, optimize user interfaces or visualize information.
